Handsome little man

Over the weekend, we decided to have some fun with the camera and video camera to try to catch hour HANDSOME man doing his thing. He continually changes it feels like everyday. Here he is showing everyone how he likes to stand on his feet with a little support... however it doesn't appear that daddy is very reliable as this video shows...makes me crack up every time!

This is one of my favorite pictures of my two boys. Grady so enjoys playing with his daddy!

Well it seems like Grady may be adjusting a little bit better to daycare these days. He has been able to start getting some good naps in during the morning time; however we are still trying to work on getting more than a cat nap in the afternoon. Although daycare is not the ideal situation, it is encouraging to see him smiling and laughing when we pick him up at the end of the day. Kim, our daycare provider, says Grady is a welcomed addition.

Grady is starting to enjoy playing with toys, or at least putting them in his mouth. Right now we are working on his ability to reach for our hands and his toys. Toys can be fun but he still prefers looking at mommy and daddy's faces.

Grady is such a little pickle...tonight while I was attempting to rock him to get him ready for bed he proceeded to start laughing and giggling at mommy. Of course Ben and I tried to resist laughing at him, but he's just so darn cute that it was hard not to. We may be partial, but we continue to be surprised at how enamored we are with our little gift. We feel so blessed everyday.

I can barely believe that our little "baby bear" is already 3 months old! It feels like it was just yesterday that we brought him home. It is so true what they say... a baby really does change your whole life. Our life now revolves around Grady's feeding schedule, nap times, and mood changes. Some of his 3 month milestones include: holding his head up unassisted, standing on his feet, finding his fingers, talking up a storm, and enjoying his new friends at daycare. He currently weighs in at 15lbs 6oz and is 25 1/4" tall. We are daily amazed at our growing little man.

This is Grady laughing his little heart out playing pattycake. He is really starting to be not only fun but entertaining! He really has brought a new level of joy to our household.

First full week!

Well I have finished my first official week back to work and wow has it been difficult! I never knew how much I could miss my little man. However it makes me feel better to know that it seems like Grady is enjoying daycare. Kim, our daycare provider continues to comment that he is such a good baby and that all the other mothers have said how cute he is. Poor Grady is so tired when he comes home though...there are so many things to watch, he doesn't want to miss anything so he skips his naps. We are hopeful that soon he will become accustomed to the new environment. It may take mommy more time to adjust than Grady! The hardest part for me is how little time I get to spend with him during the day... it adds up to about 4 hours total and some of that is when he's napping on me! I can see that weekends and night time feedings are definitely going to be cherished. Speaking of night time... Grady still does not sleep through the night. I am beginning to think that he wakes up not to eat but to interact with mommy. I am not sure if I am ready to give that up just quite yet however it would be nice if it were only one time during the night instead of two. I have been reading "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" and it has so much good information however I feel like I cannot implement it since I cannot regulate his nap habits. Oh well, I'm sure we will figure something out to keep everyone well rested and sane at the Blanchard house.
Grady will be 3 months tomorrow and he is getting so big. His new favorite hobby is using his tongue to explore his world and it seems like he always has his fist in his mouth. He hasn't picked a favorite finger to suck just quite yet though. He truly is a gift from God and the more I attempt to do this parenting thing, the more I am reminded that I have to daily submit my life over to the trusting hands of Jesus Christ. I completely believe that it is only through his grace and strength that I am able to glorify him through raising Grady.

Just a peek at the cuteness that is Grady

This is our precious baby Grady at 2 months...he will be turing 3 month in three days. It is so true what they say that they grow up so fast. He is on the verge of 15lbs right now and he is laughing and showing his personality in so many ways. What a privilege to be a mom!

Here we Go!!!

Now that Grady is 3 months old, I decided it was finally time to start sharing his new life and adventures with our family and friends. Because our family not to mention our friends are spread out all over the country, what better way to stay connected and to do life together. This is a substantial undertaking for me due to the fact that consistency with this type of project tends to get pushed to the wayside; however because our baby is probably the cutest baby ever... I feel that the rest of ya'll should get to be in on the new adventures of the Blanchards. I hope this blog can offer not only information about our lives but also laughs, smiles, joy and the sense that God is faithful to take care of His children no matter how many miles separate us from each other.
