Fun with family and friends
Here is Papa Chuck and Grandma Janelle chillin at the aquatic center with their two youngest grandbabies.
Grady was fixated on pulling Papa Chuck's chest hair and let me tell ya...that boy has some grip. Papa Chuck is smiling just to hold back the tears!
Grady and Miley (Grady's cousin) washed up together, basically just to play with the bath toys. Interestingly enough, Miley just turned 1 year old and she actually weighs 3lbs less than Grady! Even though they are family, they have such different features; however both extremely cute.
One of the fun reasons for getting together was to celebrate Miley's first birthday. This was the first one year old birthday party that the whole family was together for since Brooke (the oldest) birthday party. Grady's cousins just love holding him and carrying him around; however they can definitely tell the size difference between their sister and him.
What a great family shot! It was so nice to spend a part of the summer with family
After all the excitement of the family staying with us, Daddy and Grady had to unwind with introducing Chicago to his new role - Grady's pony! Chicago is so great with Grady; someday I'm sure Grady will try to ride this horse!
I just couldn't resist putting this pic on the blog...he is just so sweet looking. I can't believe how big he is getting.
We were able to relive a part of our college lives by waiting up until after midnight (never happens, even on New Year's Eve) for my college friends, Darwin and Nicole to arrive and spend the night with their little Miles. It was so great to see them and meet their little man even if it was just for a moment. Here Grady is playing nice with Miles; later on, Grady would try to eat that hand he is holding, but Miles did not seem to mind!
Here is Grady's surprised/excited face.
Grady's new trick is spitting all his food back at Mommy. This was taken just after one of his little episodes. Needless to say, this behavior will not be allowed for long!Who Me???
Just chillin on a lazy Saturday morning. This was the morning after Grady slept through the whole night. So refreshing to have a full night's rest and zero obligations. Happy 4th of July!
I'll end this post with allowing everyone to witness Grady's new form of expressing himself....yelling!!! Enjoy

Summer fun
Just another instance of a Cub taking down a Cardinal!
Grady's first experience at an aquatic center. The water was somewhat chilly but he loved watching all the other kids and hanging onto his turtle while he kicked his legs in the water. I gotta get the poor kid some shades though. Mommy went a little crazy applying sunscreen and making sure his little head was covered at all times. But given Grady's daddy's history with the sun, it was a necessary precaution.
Ben celebrated his first Father's Day with his precious little Bobalu (the horrible knickname that Ben loves to call Grady) so as a fun gift, I made a onesie that said "Daddy's Bobalu". Grady also bought Daddy a new Cubs hat.
Happy Father's Day Daddy...Go Cubs Go!!Sweet family picture on Father's Day

5 months and growing
Last Thursday our little man finally learned how to rollover! And we caught it on tape. He had been trying for a while but he waited for both his parents and the camera to show off his new ability. He was not exactly sure how to respond after he rolled over - he wasn't sure why mommy and daddy were making such a big deal of the situation. Grady is just growing up so quickly - this age is so fun to be a part of. Now we are working on rolling over from back to front. Our son is such an all-star!
Grady's first Easter was full of excitement ranging from sitting on the Easter bunny's lap to wearing a hawaiian shirt as his Easter outfit. He really does love to show off. He is so well behaved while out in public and then loves to fuss when we get home. We were at church from 7:15am to 12:45pm and he was such a trooper. Daddy even took him out for his first Easter egg hunt. Mommy and Daddy of course got to eat the candy.
Grady turned five months on April 7th and he is getting so big. He now weighs 19lbs and is 26 1/2" long. He also experienced his first double ear infection this month - which is continuing to linger still today. We have had so many long nights of fussiness and keeping him upright; many nights of tylenol and antibiotics. Grady has caught on to my tactics of giving him his medicine - he now clinches his lips together and will not open his mouth. I can see his intelligence could cause me some problems in the future. This month has also led to many discoveries for Grady. He was introduced to his exersaucer and he is learning to reach for and play with toys. He especially loves his musical bee that he got from his cousins. Of course everything continues to go in his mouth including mommy's hair, Aynsley's tail, and daddy's hands - no teefers yet though. Two of his fun discoveries have been finding his feet and learning that splashing in the tub can be really fun. He has figured out that he can make it hard for mommy to change his diaper by grabbing on to his toes and not letting go! He really can be a little pickle. He is really learning to love to be tickled by both daddy and mommy. His giggle and deep belly laughter is such a joy to our household. Every day I thank the Lord for what a blessing our son has added to our family.
Here are some of Grady's 5 month pictures as well as someGrady just loves hanging out with mama after she comes home from work. As he is getting older, he has been able to stay up later just so he can spend some quality time with with mommy.
Grady's hair is just so wild so I thought I would see what a little mousse could do. Here he is sporting the mohawk. Such a cute little punkin bear!
